This position providesan opportunity to participate in cutting-edge research while showing the potential for nuclear energy to contribute to a cleaner energy future.

Expected tasks include providing feedback to a team of developers creating software tools to perform economic assessments, working in tandem with industrial partners to collect necessary data, and performing analyses relevant to the energy industry.

The ideal candidate is a someone who has familiarity in performing energy market modelling, using capacity expansion and dispatch tools, and/or has familiarity with financial analysis of large capital investments.QualificationsDemonstrated oral and written communication skills required.US Citizens or applicants with up to date visas and eligibility to work in the US will be considered for this positionPhD requirements must be completed by commencement of appointment and within the previous 5 yearsDemonstrated oral and published written communication skills (in English)DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:* Experience in performing simulation using capacity expansion models (e.G.

ReEDS)* Experience in performing simulation using dispatch optimization software (e.G.

Plexos)* Familiarity with version control software like Git or SVN* Knowledge of one or more object-oriented software development language: C++, Modelica, Python* Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques* Familiarity with AI, Machine Learning, Data MiningThis position might require access to technology that is subject to export control requirements; therefore, preference will be given to candidates able to access this information without an export control license.Must be willing to work in a cultural diverse work environment.Selective Service RequirementsTo be eligible for employment at INL males born after December 31, 1959must have registered with the Selective Service System (SSS).
