Ambulatory HIM Technician Full-Time

We are looking for a Full-time HIM tech. This is a benefited position.

We are looking for someone who can grasp processes quickly, is a contributing team member, works effectively and efficiently on their own (as this position would be remote after training has been completed), and is tech saavy with applications such as Adobe Pro (editing, splitting, and removing passwords from PDFs), Excel, Outlook, WebEx, Access Database, and has some experience in an electronic health record system. Training would be done in-house at the SAMG HIM office until the new team member is ready to work remotely. Though, it is important to note that once we begin abstraction for EPIC, the position may likely require them to work on campus during that time. So, they would need to be flexible and willing to work from any location.

The job requirements are:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Education, training or experience as a Medical Assistant, Unit Clerk, CNA, pharmacy tech, medical record coder, health information technician or similar clinical position preferred.
  • Hospital or physician clinic experience preferred.
  • Must have active driving privileges. If, during the course of employment, driving privileges change or colleague receives a driving citation, the colleague is required to notify their supervisor and/or HR.
